Weight Loss Motivation and Inspiration for Women
Want to know the real secret to staying motivated for losing weight? Read carefully.
- Making colorful charts and planners
- Counting calories on an app
- Or reading fitness quotes on the internet
While those are great and can help with weight loss goals, they are not the SECRET to keeping you motivated. They don’t truly help in the long-term when eating decisions become harder.
Sooooo, what’s the secret????
Glad you asked… It may be a surprise, but here it is:
Without a doubt, there is no single influence greater than peer pressure (or community influence) on a person’s success losing weight or pretty much achieving ANYTHING.
It’s why people post CrossFit workouts on Facebook.
It’s why a nice kid can get caught up in drugs because friends pressured them.
It’s, sadly, why terrorists blow up groups of people all in the name of religion.
It’s also why groups of people are more successful than individuals at reaching goals.
Community and peer influence are waaaaayyyyyyyyyy more powerful than most people give them credit for.
And very undervalued in today’s society. The people you surround yourself with are a better indicator of weight loss success than having a particular plan or program that is “perfect” for you.
But my community sucks…
While many people have heard “you are the sum of the 5 people you hang out with the most,” it’s not always optional who you hang around. Family members and co-workers are usually people you spend LOADS of time with, but you don’t really get to choose them.
But you know what is in your control?
The blogs, articles, and communities you join online!
Actually, this is one of the many reasons we created the private groups we have at Avocadu!

A Community is a Place Where Results are Shared
There’s something incredibly powerful about reading the results of those who are on the same plan and path as yourself.
“So today is day 8 for me, meaning I am officially done with week 1. I am SO excited to share that I have lost 9.2lbs. I am feeling great and very encouraged by the progress I am making. Only 14 more days to go and at least 5 more lbs to meet my goal. I am hoping when I start adding the exercise in tomorrow that I will start adding some extra toning in, which will help as well. Just wanted to share me news, definitely a great way to start the day!!”
LuAnne Butler. Hewitt, TX
“It is day 13 and I am 12lbs down!! Feeling the loss in my clothes and feeling better!”
Jenna Simons. Obetz, Ohio
“I have to share….. IM IN ONEDERLAND!!!! today is day 9 and I’m down 9lbs. And under 200 ? I am so happy.”
“Day 11…down 11 lbs!!! That’s pretty good in my book ?”
A Community is a Place Healthy Recipes Can Be Shared
A Community is Where Encouragement and Tips Can Be Found
A Community is Where People Can Tell Their Story and Inspire Others
Sheralyn La Ballister. Vancouver, BC, Canada
“Day 11 over here! Down about 8lbs!! I’ve had a few unapproved moments lol but instead of letting that cause everything fall apart (which is what I usually do and then just binge) I’ve just moved on and treated each day and each meal as its own! First week was tough- I never wanted to see another veggie lol – but once you’re detoxed the cravings are gone and you feel great! I already know I have a dairy allergy and have gluten sensitivity and since starting this I have felt the best I have in years! No tummy issues, bloating or gas – it’s great!! That doesn’t mean I miss certain things but since I’m actually seeing results for the first time (and I’ve tried literally everything) I’m in the mindset that my goal is more important than however good that bite may taste!
Personal achievement – have to go exchange the dress I bought 2 weeks ago for my engagement picture for a smaller size!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!”
Paulette Goldfisher. Fremont, California.
“So, I completed the 21-day challenge. I lost 14.8 lbs. I really do think I have changed my eating patterns. I have 24 more pounds to go. I am not going to go crazy, but I am going to take two days off before starting again. The last week was definitely the hardest week for me. I was feeling really weak and tired. I doubt that is how I should feel but I have a hypothyroid problem and a lot of the time I become so tired. So I am attributing it to that and not diet. When I get so tired I tend to eat thinking it will give me energy and so this cycle of terrible weight gain has happened. Thank you to Lauren and Alex for all your encouragement. I love your website and you both have been so helpful through the struggle. I had lost hope that I could lose weight, but now I know I can!!!”
“An emotional end to Round 1 for me (I’m starting again on Wednesday!!!) I haven’t weighed myself since last Monday because I was very stressy, discouraged, and struggling all week, so I was surprised to see my result…
21.4 LBS DOWN IN 21 DAYS!!! <3
I stood on the scale for a full two minutes and cried. Then I went and tried on all my jeans (I’ve been living in sundresses all month) and nothing fit. 2.5 inches off my waist, 3 off my hips, 2 off each thigh, and about an inch off each arm. I’m still in shock! I don’t even want to massively cheat all day tomorrow as I was planning to (although french fries and caramel frappuccino are both happening. Lol) If I ever get to meet Lauren and Alex I’ll hug them both to pieces! Looking sooooo forward to Round 2…….. :D”
Don’t Ever Underestimate the Power of a Strong Community!!!
If you’d like to join ours, you can get free access with the purchase of our 21-Day Fat Loss Challenge.
People lose an average of 10-21 pounds in 21 days and absolutely love it! But even better than the weight loss is the feedback we get from people about how the program has taught them how to change their eating habits and find a diet that truly works for them in the long-term.
We have over 1,000 people in our private support group going through the Challenge together, and they share experiences, results, motivation, and lots of recipes!
If you are ready to make some changes in your life, this is the ONLY place you should start. We will teach you exactly how to make the necessary changes in your diet and your lifestyle and how to keep them “beyond the diet.”
